| Purpose |
The Children's Gaucher Research Fund is a non-profit organization that raises funds to coordinate and support research aimed at finding a cure for Gaucher disease (Type 2 and Type 3) as well as providing support to families who have children who battle this disease. Type 2 and Type 3 Gaucher disease is a progressive debilitating genetic disease which attacks children, causing a variety of systemic and neurological medical complications. |

| Background |
Gregory and Deborah Macres are the founders of the Children's Gaucher Research Fund. Their son Gregory, born January 29, 1993, passed away on April 13, 1997, due to Type 3 Gaucher disease. |
| Use Of Funds |
100% of all donations go directly to medical research on the neuronopathic form of Gaucher disease, Type 2 and Type 3. There are no salaries. There are no administrative costs. All costs for postage, printing, web site development, etc. are either donated, or paid for by the founders. |
| Research Grant |
Research grants will be awarded exclusively for research on Type 2 and Type 3 Gaucher disease. Grant proposals will be considered from any accredited medical research institution in the world. |
| Grant recommendations will be made by the Scientific Advisory Board, using the guidelines of excellence, relevance, and efficient use of funds. |
